Lady Midnight was phenomenal, and I absolutely CANNOT wait for Book 2(which comes out next April, good gosh!) in The Dark Artifices trilogy! This book came out in March, a couple days before my birthday, and I got it shipped to me from Amazon the day it came out! It is a HUGE book, but I managed to read it in 2-3 days, because I could not put it down! (Keep in mind that I was also at school while reading this, so that's pretty incredible ;P) The plot twists in this book were very unexpected, and I couldn't believe what I read at first. I had to reread it a couple times until I could finally get it into my brain. Ugh, the FEELS! Honestly, I was expecting something totally different from what happened in this book, but it was definitely a positive difference. Cassie Clare just knows how to write a book, let me tell you. The ships in this book though...I have no idea who to ship anymore. *sobs* Mark...Cristina...Julian...Emma...*dies*
Here is a summary of Lady Midnight, taken from the inside cover of my very own copy!:
"In a secret world where half-angel warriors are sworn to fight demons, parabatai is a sacred word.
"A parabatai is your partner in battle. A parabatai is your best friend. Parabatai can be everything to each other--but they can never fall in love.
"Emma Carstairs is a warrior, a Shadowhunter, and the best in her generation. She lives for battle. Shoulder to shoulder with her parabatai, Julian Blackthorn, she patrols the streets of Los Angeles, where vampires party on the Sunset Strip, and faeries--the most powerful of supernatural creatures--teeter on the edge of open war with Shadowhunters. When the bodies of humans and faeries turn up murdered in the same way Emma's parents were when she was a child, an uneasy alliance is formed. This is Emma's chance for revenge--and Julian's change to get back his brother Mark, who is being held prisoner by the faerie Courts. All Emma, Mark, and Julian have to do is solve the murders within two weeks...and before the murderer targets them.
"Their search takes Emma from sea caves full of sorcery to a dark lottery where death is dispensed. And each clue she unravels uncovers more secrets. What has Julian been hiding from her all these years? Why does Shadowhunter Law forbid parabatai to fall in love? Who really killed her parents--and can she bear to know the truth?
"The darkly magical world of Shadowhunters has captured the imaginations of millions of readers across the globe. Join the adventure in Lady Midnight, the long-awaited first volume of a new trilogy from Cassandra Clare."
What I forgot to mention above is that this trilogy is a spin-off of The Mortal Instruments series, which takes place in 2008, while this one takes place in 2012. Oh my goodness, was this book good! Some characters from TMI make an appearance, and it is AMAZING! (Especially the end!!)
Being that I have the book right next to me, I will even provide a snippet! XP
“You’ve got a lot of responsibility now,” Jace said to Julian. “You’ll have to make sure Emma winds up with a guy who deserves her.”
Julian was strangely white-faced. Maybe he was feeling the effects of the ceremony, Emma thought. It had been strong magic; she still felt it sizzling through her blood like champagne bubbles. But Jules looked as if he’d been slapped.
“What about me?” Emma said, quickly. “Don’t I have to make sure Jules winds up with someone who deserves him?”
“Absolutely. I did it for Alec, Alec did it for me — well, actually, he hated Clary at first, but he came around.”
“I bet you didn’t like Magnus much, either,” said Julian, still with the same odd, stiff look on his face.
“Maybe not,” said Jace, “but I never would have said so.”
“Because it would have hurt Alec’s feelings?” Emma asked.
“No,” said Jace, “because Magnus would have turned me into a hat rack.”
As always, I must include some of my favorite quotes from Lady Midnight!

Anywho, I'm going to wrap this up by asking if you guys have any book, movie, or music recommendations for me, and what reviews you want me to do next! (I think I'm going to do a Throne of Glass review, A Court of Mist and Fury review, a Red Queen review, and maybe an Unbecoming of Mara Dyer review!)
